P-19 “Danube” (Russian designation: 1RL134; NATO designation “Flat Face B”) is a mobile two-coordinate radar station of the decimeter wave range. The P-19 radar can interface with all types of automatic interacting and control systems: P-18SA-3 “Goa” and SA-2 “Guideline” surface-to-air missile systems, and PRW-9 und PRW-16 radio altimeters. The power supply of the station equipment can be carried out from electric generator 1, electric generator 2 and from external network 220 V ±5% 400 Hz. Power consumption does not exceed 15 kW.

The transmitter uses a magnetron. generator. Therefore, the station is a pseudo-coherent radar. The range of operating frequencies corresponds to the range of the magnetron MI-119 (Fig. 2).

The antenna uses horizontal polarization. The radar covering area in the vertical plane is determined by the antenna supply mode. In in-phase mode, the lower lobe of the visibility area is most extended and pressed to the ground. This mode is used to detect distant and low-flying targets. For targets with high flight altitude there may be omissions due to the multi-blade character of the radar covering area. In antiphase mode, the lobes are raised, which allows you to detect targets at a high altitude. The upper boundary of the detection zone in antiphase is 20°.

The station includes:

  1. A car with a K-4 body on a ZIL-131 vehicle, which houses: radar equipment, interfacing equipment with other radars, ground radar interrogator (1L23-6), data acquisition and transmission equipment, and a set of measuring equipment, internal telephone and radio communications equipment.
  2. The antenna-mast unit is mounted on a ZIL-131 vehicle, the platform on which there are two gasoline electric generators AB-16-T/230/4-400-M1 and an antenna rotation mechanism.

The radar can be combined with antenna-mast devices (AMU, kyrill.: Антенно-Мачтовы Устройство, АМУ) 1RL82, 1RL82М and 1RL82M1 to extend the operating range. The remote plan position indicator (VIKO) is connected to the radar by cables and can be located at a distance of up to 300 m from the radar.
